About the event

Over two hours we’ll take a deep and slow dive into the restful practice of restorative yoga. This is my favourite type of yoga to do and to teach. It's brought me solace & strength and I've found it to be the most needed and transformational practice to those I've taught it to over the years.

We'll begin by learning what restorative yoga is (aka the antidote to stress). We'll then share common causes and experiences of stress and ways we can integrate rest & restorative yoga into our daily lives. I'll then guide you through a handful of floor-based restorative poses that I've found to be deeply restful & grounding. We'll use props such as bolsters and cosy blankets to help us feel supported and switch towards the parasympathetic nervous system (the place we go when we rest). You'll leave with a deeper understanding of the practice and a toolkit of poses to help you unwind at home.

Who this workshop is for

This workshop is suitable for most people, including those with limited mobility and pregnant & post-natal people. There are options for your body throughout and all experience levels are welcome. As with all of my classes, each element of the practice is optional and for you to pick which works best for you in the moment. If you are pregnant, it would be ideal if you could please let me know in advance of the workshop as this will help me prepare & support you best.

What you need

You'll need to bring your mat own to this workshop along with a cushion and a blanket. I'll be providing bolsters, bricks, eye pillows and an additional blanket. You may find it useful to bring a journal/notepad and pen - resting can spark some wonderful insight & ideas! You are welcome to wear absolutely anything you feel comfortable moving and lying down in.

Where this workshop takes place

This workshop will take place in the venue at the Craufurd Arms in Wolverton. Entrance to the venue is through the double doors adjacent to the car-park. There are limited spaces available to park in the car-park, you may need to park on one of the side streets. Please note that whilst the Craufurd Arms does have a ramp into the venue, there isn't currently an accessible toilet. This is something we're working on though.

Financial accessibility

I believe that yoga, particularly restful practices like restorative yoga, should be accessible to all regardless of financial situation so I'm offering scaled pricing for this workshop. The Supporter rate is for those who can afford to pay more (and therefore are able to support those in the lower priced options), then there's the Standard rate and a Reduced rate for those who need it. If you would like to join but paying any amount right not doesn't make sense for you, please drop me an email and I'll see what I can do (accessyogauk@gmail.com). Restful spaces must be accessible & equitable.
